Short Films

Just looking at some short films from the depict.org competitions.

'Dermo Suchaesta (Sh1t Happens)' from the 2006 shortlist, I think is simply quality. Not only do the camerawork, picture quality and colour scheme fit the WWII era, but it’s wonderfully simple and most of all - takes a perfectly British, laid-back, very amusing look at something children in war-torn countries are hopping around with limbs missing because of.

'Non-Fat' from the 2004 shortlist is another amusing short. As some of its reviews have stated, the timings of the period of 'annoying American woman' and 'wonderfully over-the-top violence' could be improved upon... but not much! And this wouldn't add too much to overall quality of the piece. Again the camerawork attempts to blend into the environment of the film, this time however it just misses its aim - to be a security camera - with the good sound quality, but without this, the audience would not get the joke.
